As we approach the New Year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the past year and wish you a very Happy New Year!
This past year was my first full year as a freelance consultant, helping utilities improve their business office operations and better serve their customers. I want to give a huge shout out to those of you who engaged my services to improve the efficiencies of your business offices.
As a consultant, my specialty is business reviews – spending time onsite in your business office, observing and asking questions, to learn how your utility operates. From this, I make recommendations as to how your office could operate more efficiently or follow best practices. This year, several business reviews led to my providing additional services. I assisted customers with RFPs for new software, implementing and converting to new systems, and updating policy manuals.

Fourteenth year!
2024 will mark the fourteenth year of publishing the Utility Information Pipeline! This past fall marked the 300th Utility Information Pipeline. Fourteen years ago, when I started this newsletter, I never could have imagined writing over 300 of them. Thank you for subscribing and reading them, no matter how long you’ve been a subscriber!
